Prosecutors worked closely with law enforcement, processing evidenceĀ and building their case against Muhammad and Malvo. They walked the jury through the evidence found during the arrest of the two men and how that evidence linked the attackers to evidence left at many of the crime scenes. They examined each shooting in the DC area and were also able to link the snipers to additional crimes in other states. The prosecution was also aided by several witness testimonies from the victims of the snipers who had managed to survive the attacks. One of the greatest breaks in the case, however, came from convincing Malvo to testify against Muhammad.
