The First Note
Found near the crime scene at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Ashland, Virginia where Jeffrey Hopper was shot and injured on October 19, 2002. This letter was directed to law enforcement and demands $10 million. The note also taunted law enforcement stating that “your children are not safe anywhere at any time.”
The Second Note
Found in Montgomery County, Maryland at the crime scene where Conrad Johnson was killed on October 22, 2002. This letter was also directed at law enforcement and warned of future shootings if law enforcement didn't comply with the snipers' demands.
Secret Service was able to verify that the handwriting on each note matched that on the tarot card, successfully linking them to the snipers.
