Found near Benjamin Tasker Middle School, this tarot card was used by the snipers to communicate with police. The card was inscribed with text on three separate lines on the back, “For you mr. Police.” “Code: ‘Call me God’.” “Do not release to the press." Despite police efforts to honor the request not to release information about the card to the press, details were made public by WUSA-TV and then by The Washington Post, just one day later. This was the snipers’ first attempt to communicate with law enforcement. The card was later examined by the FBI and Secret Service.
